Like seeing the diminution of your overly hyped yet supposedly bright journalistic future, is what it felt like.
you know? ..when your journalism professor says, "You're very good. Actually. Just sensational.. pwedeng pang tabloid." snigger.
and here i was starting to like my course.
Hm.
************ that night.....*****
Although I'm a little worried that my article-writing prowess is as yet shitty, I think on the whole I'm not that hopeless. . I mean I spell right. That should count for something right.
I wrote a news bit a few days ago about the rallies at school for Journ101. I decided to keep it for revision once I found stark errors. Dad managed to reduce my article into a shorter (but clearer and frizz-free) one. What with his insightful criticisms ("ano ba to?? hindi mo maintindihan!! palitan mo!") and red pen markings, the article's improved vastly. I think.
Why should I listen to him when he has no apparent hands-on journalistic experience, you say? I figure his extensive experience in reading leads of news articles (he has his staff send him a tabulated summary of leads from news articles every day. you know. to save time when he's in a hurry in the morning.) is good enough to warrant his advice.
Even paper clip was happy when I typed it in on Word. Paper clip kept on doing cartwheels and things.
I even did a word count. Total number of words in finished re-re-re-re-revised article?
666.
That should be a good sign, right?
